Benue cancels mass burial of Omusu 26 murdered by herdsmen
The mass burial of the 26 persons killed last Monday by
suspected herdsmen at Omusu village, Ojigo Edumoga, Okpokwu local government area of Benue state, slated for yesterday, has been rescheduled by the state government.
Ortom
The government had earlier in the week through a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Tahav Agerzua
scheduled the burial for Friday.
However, in a statement issued yesterday by the Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to the Governor, Terver Akase, the burial was rescheduled for next Thursday.
Though no reason was given for the shift in date it was however reliably gathered that the decision to shift the burial date was to avoid a clash with the burial ceremony of the wife of
the former Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro which has already been scheduled for Friday at Effa Ugbokolo, Okpokwu local government area of the state.
